Objectives
- At the completion of the course the learner will be able to:
- Construct meal trays for various Therapeutic diets.
- Demonstrate hand hygiene, hand washing and hand rubbing techniques when appropriate.
- Demonstrate safe donning and doffing of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as it relates to transmission-based Precautions
- Demonstrate the patient meal selection process, including communication scripting.
- Demonstrate the patient tray delivery process, including communication scripting.
- Demonstrate the tray collection process.
- Discuss food allergies; common foods, the symptoms, and the difference from food preferences.
- Discuss foodborne illness sources, at risk populations, and your role in prevention.
- Discuss the importance of the role of the Hospitality Associate in caring for people.
- Discuss the meal ordering process using MedConnect and HealthTouch.
- Discuss transmission-based Precautions and the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) needed for each.
