Objectives
- At the completion of the learning session the learners will be able to:
- Demonstrate effective communication in difficult conversation scenarios
- Demonstrate problem solving difficult situations
- Demonstrate the proper use of the equipment used to clean the surgical suite
- Describe the differences in cleaning and disinfection
- Differentiate between/list the steps/demonstrate the three types of OR cleaning: Between Case Cleaning, Terminal Cleaning & Cycle Cleaning
- Discuss chemicals used in the Operating Room for cleaning and disinfecting
- Discuss infection prevention principles related to Operating Room cleaning
- Discuss quality control testing that is used in the Operating Room
- Discuss regulatory standards that apply to Operating Room cleaning
- Discuss the department and areas that are included in the Operating Room cleaning protocol
- Discuss the documentation used to verify completion of cleaning
