This simulation is designed for the Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Patient Care Technician to review and practice early recognition and management of patients requiring BLS and/or ACLS/PALS interventions using AHA guidelines. Participants will recognize and assume necessary roles in a code situation. Using a patient simulation, participants will be immersed in a real life environment with hand on practice.
Goals:
- increased comfortability with the management of adult and pediatric patients in an emergent situation
- practice CPR hand placement, positioning, rate, and depth (PCT/LPN/RN focus)
- practice assessment skills, zoll usage, rhythm recognition, and airway management (RN/LPN focus)
- practice medication administration following ACLS/PALS protocol (RN focus)
