• Cite the role of security staff in documenting security incidents and use of force episodes.
• Collaborate with clinical staff in responding to patient elopements and potential use of force situations.
• Understand the purpose of the MedStar Health policies and procedures governing response to patient restraints and seclusion, patient elopement and AMA, and de-escalation techniques and use of force.
• Use de-escalation techniques in responding to emergency situations, including potential use of force episodes.
