This course introduces the learner to the BD Alaris Infusion System pump and syringe pump.
Objectives
- BD Alaris System v12.x Pump and Syringe
- Describe the process, rationale, and programming of a Secondary medication
- Identify compatible syringes and sizes for use with the Syringe module
- Identify the purpose of a Basic Infusion, programming, and steps to perform to promote to a Guardrails continuous infusion
- Understand how to program IV fluids and medications using the Guardrails™ Suite MX and navigate Guardrails Hard and Soft Limits
- Understand proper loading and unloading of Pump module infusion sets
- Understand proper priming of the Pump module infusion sets
- Understand proper syringe loading and general programming
- Understand the anatomy of the hospital-specific Pump module infusion set
