This course will widely disseminate information on the MedStar health MA Scope of Practice
Objectives
- To ensure consistency in interpretation of MA SOP throughout MSH, and reduce variability for MAs who work in multiple locations
- To improve provider efficiency by empowering MAs to work at top of scope, thus more effectively supporting provider workflow
- To improve safety by ensuring MAs understand their SOP, training requirements, and whether an order is required to perform the task
- To provide a process in which providers, leaders and MAs are empowered to inquire about MA SOP and how it pertains to their specialty and patient care delivery
- To provide governance on tasks that may or may not be delegated to MAs by providers in the MSH region/states
- To widely disseminate information on the MedStar health MA Scope of Practice
