This course is to provide MedStar Health clinical instructors with an update on clinical instruction for MedStar.  It will focus first on making staff aware of the clinical education structure within MedStar Health for outpatient and inpatient entities.  It will review all expectations of a clinical instructor, which include expectations prior to becoming a clinical instructor, pre- clinical affiliation expectations, and during clinical affiliation expectations of clinical instructors.  It will review resources available to clinical instructors.  This course will provide a brief overview of MedStar Health’s EPIC program.  It will remind clinical instructors of the computer and software access their students will have as well as potential documentation concerns associated with certain insurances.  Finally, it will review what the next steps are for clinical instructors after taking this course.
