- Describe the components of Reality Shock and steps to help residents progress thru each phase
- Explain the purpose and structure of the NTP Nurse Residency Program
- Identify Benner’s Novice to Expert Theory as it applies to clinical practice and competency
- List principles of effective communication and support of our new nurses
- Outline the new graduate orientation concept, process and guidelines
- Produce an evaluation plan that incorporates the orientee, unit director, and the unit educator
