About this Course: This course is designed to prepare the Registered Professional Nurse to analyze and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias. This course includes a review of cardiac anatomy and physiology with emphasis on the conduction system of the heart. After course completion, the nurse will have the skills to accurately analyze a rhythm strip, identify specific dysrhythmias, and determine nursing interventions.

- Describe the anatomy and conduction system of the heart.
- Describe the procedure for responding to telemetry calls by licensed personnel.
- Determine the appropriate interventions for each of the identified dysrhythmias.
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team involved in the collaborative care of patients with dysrhythmias.
- Integrate a team-based approach in the care of patients with dysrhythmias.
- Recognize cardiac rhythms accurately and measure the rate, rhythm, PR interval, and QRS duration.
