Description
This course offers 1.5 Continuing Professional Education credits to Nurses. To claim the credits, the course must be completed prior to 12/31/24. Once your evaluation is complete, log on to CloudCME® from your left SiTEL menu, and toggle to your Transcript to find the credits.
Accreditation: In support of improving patient care, MedStar Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Credit Designation: This activity is approved for 1.50 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
About this Course: This course is designed for the Registered Nurse or Patient Care Technician to review and practice early recognition and management of patients requiring BLS interventions using AHA guidelines prior to code team arrival. Participants will recognize and assume necessary roles in a code situation. Using a patient simulation, participates will be immersed in a real life environment with hand on practice. This course will only review basic BLS concepts, no ACLS concepts.
