Objectives

  • Define the scope of lung cancer in the United States and the indications for lung cancer screening.
  • Identify the roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team involved in the collaborative care of lung cancer patients
  • Identify tobacco cessation (TC) resources within and outside of MedStar Health.
  • Integrate a team-based approach in the care of lung cancer patients
  • Locate the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) eligibility criteria to accurately order and bill for a low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) scan for LCS.
  • Recognize the elements of the CMS compliance guidelines required for conducting and documenting the shared decision-making (SDM) visit and tobacco cessation/abstinence
