Accreditation: In support of improving patient care, MedStar Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Credit Designation: This activity is approved for 3.25 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
About this course: A series of modules introducing the following concepts: Quality improvement, evidence-based practice, PICOT, research, and the IOWA Model of evidence-based practice and discussing how and why they should be incorporated into everyday nursing practice.
This course is designed for registered nurses with little or no background in nursing research. It is broken down into 5 modules, which must be taken consecutively. These modules provide an introductory program overview which delves into going beyond quality improvement, and introduces the application of Evidence-Based Practice and conducting research.
