Description
The MedStar Washington Hospital Center NICU Bridge incorporates multimodal learning strategies to help new graduate and experienced -- but new-to-specialty -- nurses succeed in the high-acuity, fast-paced neonatal intensive care unit. Completion of AACN's Essentials of Neonatal Critical Care Orientation (ENCCO) modules, combined with classes that emphasize hospital practices, policies, procedures, and hands-on skills, provide nurses with the theoretical knowledge and critical thinking skills needed to provide holistic family-centered care to critically ill, intensive care, and intermediate care neonates and their family members. Content is appropriate for both new graduates and the experienced nurse. Class content is integrated with clinical experience, through mentoring and bedside coaching over a 16-week period.
