This course reviews how to identify and respond appropriately to a patient with a shoulder dystocia event. Priority is placed upon the recognition of risk factors and the emergent nature of shoulder dystocia. In the event of a shoulder dystocia, the learner is taught the applicable maneuvers to alleviate the shoulder dystocia, as well as appropriate communication techniques with the healthcare team and patient/family.
