This module covers safety and infection control in infusion therapy including flushing procedures, high-risk medications, first dose procedures and precautions, IV push protocols, blood sampling from a central line, using Cath Flo for de-clotting, and signs/symptoms and interventions for anaphylaxis.

Home infusion module 5: Dressing change and management of various infusion types show details
This module covers technique for changing a dressing on an intravenous line; infection control protocols for IV site care and how to maintain a sterile field; how to maintain and care for various infusion types; safety precautions to avoid complications; and documentation protocols for home infusion therapy.

This module covers the process for administration of hydration therapy; the management and care of patients receiving hydration therapy; when it is not necessary to use an electronic infusion device to infuse; risk involved in hydration therapy; and how to avoid complications.

Home infusion module 7: Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) show details
This module covers the need to check the physician’s order at multiple checkpoints prior to infusing TPN; the process for administering and managing a TPN infusion; which filter to use on the IV line for the specific type of TPN ordered; and patient/caregiver teaching related to TPN therapy.

This module covers the process for administration of chemotherapy; the management and care of patients receiving chemotherapy; the proper use and disposal of chemotherapeutic agents; and the possible risks involved in chemotherapy and how to avoid complications.

This module covers the types of antibiotic therapies administered in the home; some of the actions, doses, storage requirements, and adverse effects for some of the most common anti-infectives; the management and care of patients receiving anti-infectives; and the differences between an antibacterial, an antiviral, and an antifungal.

This module covers the process for the administration of intravenous pain medications; the management and care of patients receiving intravenous pain therapy; the aspects of cardiac inotropic therapy by intravenous route including the process for the administration of cardiac inotropes and the management and care of patients receiving cardiac inotrope support therapy.
